We have developed a corporate strategy for a leading Russian equipment manufacturer for the energy sector
Our client, a leading Russian manufacturer of measuring equipment for the energy industry, was seeking professional advice on the company’s business development direction for the next 3-5 years and formalizing the company strategy. The client has been on the market for more than 20 years and is among the top 5 players in their segment. However, increased competition and market growth stagnation have prompted the company to seek alternative growth drivers. Along with that, fast growth in previous years has produced certain issues in organizational development. The client’s attempts to create a strategy on their own have not produced an applicable solution. MCG was hired to define and prioritize growth drivers and design an approach to increasing the effectiveness of internal business-processes.
In the first stage of the project MCG team focused on:
• Energy equipment market research and forecasting of the growth dynamics for the next 5 years in each segment
• In-depth interviews with clients’ top- and middle-management and industry experts
This allowed us to identify potential business growth drivers and uncover “pain-points” in internal business-processes. Subsequently we developed strategic initiatives for revenue growth and “pain-points” mitigation. In the second stage of the project MCG defined the set of actions required to actualize the strategic initiatives and studied the potential gain and implementation complexity for every initiative. We also developed a company financial forecast for the next 5 years in form of a financial model.
Project results: The client has received a prioritized list of strategic initiatives, aimed at revenue growth along with an increase in internal efficiency. We also provided an initiative implementation roadmap a detailed financial model for the next 5 years.
